Lastly, check your MOT status, and if your MOT is due to run out soon, consider getting a new one as this helps reassure buyers that your car is in working order.

You will need to give the buyer the green 'new keeper' slip from the logbook and then tell the DVLA. This can be done by visiting gov.uk and following the instructions there.
Once completed, you will recieve a confirmation email and a letter confirming that you are no longer the registered owner of the vehicle. You can disregard the rest of the logbook.
